HI, Please can anyone assist with what this boat make and model is. We were informed it is a 1989 Larson, but cannot find anything like it on the market. I was informed this is the HIN, but does not match any Larson on a HIN decoder. Thanks a lot.

Down in the bilge area many boats have a hull number plate down there someplace. Not all do but its worth a look.

its not a larson, and looking at the '89 larsons, its most likely older. I would not consider this boat for those two reasons in addition to the bogus HIN plate.

Unfortunately, we have no history on the boat. Belongs to a client of ours. Bill of sale does not name the make or model and the HIN used on the documentation, is as per the above plate. Which we know is not correct.

Thanks, I will take a look. I searched over the transom area for another HIN, that may be the actual one, but could not find anything.

and think to yourself........ why would someone have a bogus HIN plate? and no title? think of it as looking to buy a car with a screw driver as the ignition key and the VIN plate missing.

Far from an expert on non US or Canada HIN's but this does look similar to European HINs I have seen in the past. What is the whole number as the photo seems to cut off some of the plate.

I had a look today and could not find any other identifying numbers. I also looked through all the paperwork on the boat. There were a lot of chart purchases for the Philippines. The boat is currently in Dubai UAE! So could have been imported from Philippines?

Did a little research and European codes consist of 14 alpha numeric characters but many foreign countries us a similar system. FLY is the manufactures code for
USA YACHT LTD655 MAID MARION HILLSHERWOOD FORESTMD

The first two letters may be the country code. Could be Latvia or Laos.
Don't know if US Yacht, Ltd is still an active builder but that may be a start Good luck.

That boat is not a Larson and it appears much older than 1989. Something about it just doesn’t look right, kind of like some one did their own work on it. Can you tell us anything about the engines and out drives. That may provide clues about the boat.

I agree. The engines were replaced. I do not know what they were before. They are now 2 x Volvo Penta KAD300 Diesel 285HP engines.
