Can anyone help?

Have just got a Cobra MR F55 EU vhf marine radio and a
Garmin 551s Chart Plotter at the local boat show.

But I (no good with electric's) can't work out which wires connect to make the gps position work on the radio.

Can anyone please tell me in layman terms, how to connect them both together, (like what colour goes were) or which goes with which wire, there are only a red and black wire from the of the radio on the gps plug...

Am slowly pulling my hair out not that I'll got much left!!

Please Help me....

You should have an acc cable who came with your VHF, that will give you the extra connection (wires) for NMEA

Each of these should have come with installation instructions. You will be connecting the output of the plotter to the input of the radio.

If this doesn't make sense to you, I suggest finding someone local who understands this and having him/her finish the installation.

if you have a (DVM) ie: digital voat meater. you can put the black lead on outer body of raido , put raido on off ; then turn on if it moves that is your posative wire ;if it dose not move that isthe (-) wire.
