If you can get in it and go fishing, that's a lot of boat for $1500. Once you check it out in person, you'll know. You could probably get it for $1200 unless someone else is willing to give him his asking price, and they may. Try to figure out how long it's been for sale. That may help you dicker. Good luck.

Other than it's old, short and a tri hull? Nothing really.. If that's the kinda boat you are looking for and YOU like the price, go get her.. Be pretty good for fishing on a calm day.. My bones still ache from the tri hull I had.. She will be rough riding if the lake is rough.. It's also a small boat.. How many you planing to haul with ya? Be perfect with 2 people... That evinrude engine is a good motor.. I had a CDI pack go out, but that was it.. They are tough and long lasting..

well just got rid of a piece of a tri hull 18 footer i bought for three put two into it last year and sold for seven. the rough ride didn't bother me as much as the motor breaking down all the time. it will be me the wife and three small kids two, five, and six year olds. he said that he had to replace the power pack last year and other then tune ups the past two years he has had it that was it. i asked him what his bottom dollar was he said probably fourteen. so idk.

That power pack replacement is common..
You are going to be hauling alot of cargo.. Kids grow, grow fast.. Before ya know it the boat is too small which I think it is now..
The price is pretty stiff too.. It's hard to say much about it from pictures.. If you are uneasy about the price don't do it.. Maybe save up a bit more and find ya a newer Vhull bowrider... Be a lot better pleasure boat.. It's like night and day...

Cool post pictures... This is a good day, nothing makes me as happy as boat buying day.. Not even boat selling day.. I am always sad to watch em go, if I worked my tail off on em.. Take it out tell us how it performs

I think 1500 is a lot for and old tri-hull and old motor, but that can be overcome if both boat and motor are in great condition, you are prepared to spend some money to fix or replace the motor soon, and it is the style you want. It's often worth it to pay more for an old boat in great shape; the bargains don't work that way!

Personally I find all the seats and upholstery confining, leaving the boat less comfortable for a group than a more open boat, and adding a care and maintenance component I'd just as soon do without. But you can assess the style for yourself and your use. It would be fun for two people, or a couple with small children (<8 y.o.).

It should fly with that 70 on there.(easy engine to work on). I had a 15ft with the 1972 65 Johnson and it was still pretty fast.about 30ish. Mine ate 6 gallons of gas like it was nothing... I paid a grand for my Four Winns and it has been the greatest boat I have owned... I love a good deal..
That boat's interior looks to be original.. Get ya a good top to keep the sun off ya.. Should have summer fun... Ya gotta do what ya can to get on the lake.. Trust me I know

i don't know if they called it bimini top back then but it still has its original one on it no tares or rot on it. stretches from the back to windshield and buttons. i really don't think its seen more than a handful of weekends on the water.

I had one of those covers on a 16' starcraft. Problem is, they are too low, if you are using it while in the boat. gets inj the way folded up. Which is why it hasn't been used much

Where do you boat at?
Had a 76 Yar craft tri hull, first boat I owned. Great for the river, but the hull will beat the crap out of you on a bigger lake, or if it gets choppy.....

that funny you all say about the beating you get from being on a big lake. i have a trihull ive bin on it three times and havent got a beating yet but when i do i wanna see how bad it is. i'm not on a lake on a bay that it less then 5-8 miles from the ocean.

Okay??? Trust me it's rough.. My tri hull was longer than yours and we went out on the lake on a crowded weekend and couldn't believe how bad it was.. Started going during the week after that... I also almost turn mine over from hitting some wake wrong..
