I am worried about over charging my battery. I remember my old Dodges had them to draw down the amperage to stop charging the battery. I am not sure if it even will work on 2 strokes? I just thought it could save a lot of batteries. Just thought I would ask the experts. I am not sure (if you can install it) or where it would be wired in. tnx in advance Tim

Ballast resistors were used in the ignition system. Not charging system.

The charging system is only about 10 amp at full throttle.-----Why the concern ?----What type of battery in in your boat?

The battery is used as the voltage regulator in most cases. Regardless if it's an old outboard, old moped, or old motorcycle. If you are concerned, turn the radio up.
