My 05 175 johnson with 160 hours will not idleand dies when put into gear.I just got it out of the shop for plugs ,lower unit and put a new 10 micron fuel water seperator on. The shop changed the location of my racor so it would be easier to change,it was deep in the bilge and even though i didn't ask for this i was ok with it since it was a pain to get at.I picked it up saturday morning and went straight to the ramp,it started easy and ran fine for the 6 mile run to the bridge. After idling for just a few minutes i heard it missing and knew something was wrong. When i put it in gear it shut down ,finally got it going and it ran fine on a long run even though the ball went down while running.I stopped to idle again and it sputtered ,back into gear and shut down again. We got it going again by continually pumping the bulb but it would not idle, we ran to the ramp and after a struggle to get in it wouldn't start to run onto the trailer, could it be as simple as a bad bulb or not likely?I'm also worried about the dealer because my batteries were not tightly secured and were moving around,i quess when they relocated my racor they had them out of the bilge. They have the boat again and i'm a bit worried and since i'm 5 hours away and out of state i have few options on where to take it.any ideas appreciated.

Re: can a bad bulb do this?

could have gotten crap in the fuel lines with the change, clogging carbs, or other filter. pumping bulb was forcing fuel.
