Instead of building a stroker, I'm thinking of changing the cam in my engine.
SBC, Roller Cam w/ Vortec Heads
Looking at something like this.:
Any thoughts?

I used that cam in my 454 to 496 stoker build. An extremely strong pulling cam torque wise. Idle was pretty good. I love it. All around good pulling cam that's safe for underwater exhaust so you don't have to worry about reversion. I also used the Scorpion marine endurance roller rockers to top it off. Makes for a really smooth long lasting valve train.

that is max duration with stock exhaust on an SBC.

make sure you use the right pistons. a LCQ style will really wake up an SBC with vortec heads.

Looks like this (inverted vortec chamber)

I used the same duration and cam model. It has different lift numbers obviously but I was mostly commenting on the performance of this cam grind. I know he was referring to a sbc. Any more duration and reversion could be an issue due to oveflap.
