I live in Toledo and am looking for somewhere within a 2-3hr drive to go camping and take our 18' Searay for a weekend. We'd like to leave Friday around noon and come back Sunday. In addition, wherever we'd stay I'd like to have docks so we can just get in and go whenever we want. I thought of Grand Lake St Mary's however it appears as if they've had some algae problems and are recommending you stay out of the water, Pokagon would work but their docks are first come first served. Any other ideas? I've got a tent and no real other requirements than the dock and maybe a few things to do. Thanks!

In NE Indiana, try Crooked Lake or Clear Lake. I'm not sure on camping facilities on either one so you'd have to look it up. Not a big fan of Indian Lake as I know a lot of people who've torn up boats down there due to hitting submerged stuff....and some of them have been boating there a long time. Closer, but not quite as exciting you could always take your tent to Mary Jane Thurston in Grand Rapids. You've got 20+ miles of river you can run on and don't have any issues with regard to hitting anything. Plenty of dock space available.
