Howdy R.Johnson,
I noticed you asked what kind of boat it was once upon a time in my "post pics of your outboard" thread. I couldn't ever find the website and thought it was cancelled but stumbled across it again today. The boat was a 1954 whirlwind deluxe. the motor was supposed to be all original and it looked it. one of the pretties boats/motors I've ever seen. here's the address where I saw the pic.
I wonder what it sold for??????

Sorry it took so long to answer your question,

You want to hear something really sad? You would not believe how many wooden boats like that were trashed and destroyed down here in the 60's. Fiberglass was "the wave of the future" and wooden hulls were considered rubbish. Forty years later I look at those old fiberglass hulls and wonder what I was thinking. The classic beauty of a finely finished wooden hull is timeless.
