Wonder where quietcat is on this. I'm surprised he hasn't shared a report with us.

Re: California earthquake

He is out doing an errand for my son.

Seriously tho, it does look pretty nasty. Hope there is not more to follow.

Re: California earthquake

No serious injuries...........some property damage...........................would have been worse but a lot of the homes that could have been effected had already burned or been lost in mud slides:eek::eek:........the last part is a JOKE......

Re: California earthquake

QC would be the one to ask. It looks like the epicenter was a little west of him.

OK . . . we were on the Boat . . . but . . . my 15 YO and 19 YO were home alone and yes, Chino Hills was the Epicenter . . .

We got the news within seconds of TV reports. BIL was at the house (Lake Havasu) and he was watching the news. He called us within 10 minutes of it hitting and the phone lines were already jammed. Could not get through on the cell, text, land line, friends, neighbors etc. etc. So I was about to fire the boat up and head home, wife was getting nervous, I was getting nervous . . . I was trying to remember what the Earthquake clauses were in the Insurance etc.

Well we were on the beach in the London Bridge "Channel" and had been talking with a nice family next to us. Turned out the Dad is a California Highway Patrol Sargent. He called his office on his batphone and said that there were no reports of damage and he clearly told me that I could "go ahead and have another beer". Well I don't argue with Law Enforcement, so . . . well . . . Anyway, we got a call in another 5 minutes or so from the 15 YO . . . He said it was "bad arse" and then that it was "tight" . . . So we finished out the day and didn't get home until 11:00 PM last night . . .

I can't even find a crooked picture . . . :)

Re: California earthquake

Update . . . Update. New damage report . . .

The 19 YO said a baseball rolled off of his shelf and almost hit him in the head. We decided he didn't need to go to the Hospital after careful consideration. Also, a full bottle of Olive oil fell off of a shelf and was on the Kitchen counter, but it didn't break. I'll be filing a claim for both immediately . . .

Funny thing is, we were watching the news last night and they were saying how "Residents of Chino Hills are putting their lives back together." What a flippin' load of carp!! Nobody had to do anything more than get out a broom . . .
