CABLES

I have an 850 Mercury and when you put the throttle in gear to go forward it goes in reverse and vice versa! I hsve tried switching the cables on the motor and in the gear box also but the problem persist. Does anyone have any suggestions?? Thank you! Pstoney

pstoney,<br /><br />Did someone recently have the lower unit off?<br /><br />I'm no Merc. expert, however I do remember reading about that situation on this board.<br /><br />You may want to try a search to see if you can find the threads.<br /><br />Try using search words such as: "Merc wrong gear", "Merc. shift problem", etc
