I have a 1990 Force 120 HP L Drive and have come to the conclusion that someone was smoking crack when they designed the cable routing to the lower unit. Am I alone on this one???? I have had numerous problems with the cable (forward/reverse)as it seems to find it's resting spot in the tube, and never move from this position when the unit is lowered/raised. (I.E I have gone through 2 cables recently)Why on earth didn't they use a strait shot from the hull instead of the ridiculousness 90 degree bend it has to overcome??? But enough of my belly aching, has ANYBODY converted from the cable to a hydraulic system on a 120 HP Force L Drive to the lower unit?? I even lubricated the tube with a non petroleum synthetic grease to try to help it slide within the outer cable tube. Anybody have any ideas/solutions......besides getting rid of the boat???
