What is the best way to lubricate the cables? I know Kawasaki sells a tool to do this. Do I need it?

Thanks

Re: Cable service

remove the cable ends and the wiper seal from the outer cable. attach a piece of heavy wall clear plastic tubing to the outer cable with a small clamp, heat the other end of the plastic tubing and slip it over the end of a grease gun hose, secure it with a clamp and slowly pump grease in to the cable housing, when it comes out the other end, remove the clear tubing and put all your parts back on, its simple, if you use marine wheel berring grease it will last a long time, probably never need to do it again.

Re: Cable service

Glad to help, it's good to be an inventor, my motto is a little ingenuity saves a lot of money, I post on a lot of sites like pwc central, yamaha jetboaters, boat owners world, jet ski news, pwc alaska,go boating america ,boat design.net, jetking parts, and a few others.since I own a few patents for steering on pwc's and jet boats plus I run a business. I constsntly check e mails, so feel free to e mail me if you have a question that needs a quick answer, jeff@cobrajetsteering.com , I can usually direct you to help if I don't know the answer. I just had the honor, I think of it as an honor anyway, of having my infamous picture of driving my gtx at 50 mph while doing tight turns laying on my back steering with my feet, added to their avatars on pwc central. LOL
