Thinking about installing a cabin heater. Any recommendations? It's a damn small cabin, so nothing industrial required.

If its a inboard I'd think you could rig up something that would carry the engine heat to the cabin. Some ducting and a blower fan of some sorts.

I've got this neat little propane heater that heats my ice shante nicely, it's an oldie I'm sure they sell modern day ice shante heaters, cabin heaters for boats too for all the goes.
Thats one classic looking cabin cruiser.

Re: Cabin heater

I remember seeing a little propane powered gizmo at Walmart made for heating tents. It wasn't that expensive. I would assume if it could heat a tent, it could heat a boat cabin. Not sure how safe it would be though. I don't know if propane burns clean enough to burn indoors or not.

I don't know it for fact. But, I've always been told that propane heaters and appliances do not produce carbon monoxide. However, they do still use up oxygen.

I know our propane camp stove cautions not to use indoors, but other propane appliances I've seen say it's ok to use indoors.

Re: Cabin heater

If you have room and good ventilation install a coleman stove for both heat and cooking, or they used to make a ceramic heater, kind of a dome shaped thing. :)
