Hi all,

I have a Kaboat style boat that I'm looking to register. Have a 55lb thrust trolling motor for it and may be considering a small 2-4hp outboard as well. The boat came with the certificate of origin but I seemed to have misplaced it. I'm assuming I need the certificate of origin and Application for Vessel Certificate of Number (BOAT 101) for the DMV?
The company I bought from was able to email me a "Manufacturer's Statement of Origin" in PDF format - would I be able to just print that out and bring it with me to the DMV?

Anything else I'm missing?

Also, does anyone know what the fees are to register a boat/inflatable like this in CA?

Have you checked online with the CA DMV as to what you need?

As for the PDF print-out of the CoO . . . make sure to have your best poker face when you get to the DMV office. (worked for me once - different state though . . . :ROFLMAO: )

I called AAA and not sure that they told me the right thing, namely that I cannot register boats at AAA and can only do it at DMV. I've read elsewhere online (particulary bdoutdoors) that you *can* register boats at AAA hahaha. I guess the best way to find out is just to go to one and see if they'll do it.

I ended up finding the copy of the MCO/CoO so should be good there. The only thing is that it's not filled out, so not sure if that's normal and something that I need to do or if that's something I should do when at AAA/DMV.
