Having issues changing my trim limit/sending sensors. Think I'm going to eliminate them as I've been using the boat forever without them working anyway and just going by feel.

If I just connect the buttlett connectors on both the limit and sending wires near the engine will they operate correctly with the switch?

Are the sensors just for the gauges or will running a jumper effect how they work with the switch?

Do I even need to run a jumper ot will taping them off suffice?

Mercruiser Alpha one if that makes any difference

No issue with not having a limit, I don't have one (at least on the drive Admiral says I have one  but that's getting off topic :D ) Just connect the two wires going to the limit together, then no longer need a trailer switch

Now the gauge has one wire from gauge to sender, and another from sender to ground. No issue with disconnecting

Ok. So anything on the sender side disregard? Disconnect bullets at motor and tape off NO JUMPER between them?
On the limit side disconnect bullets by motor and connect them with a jumper.....done....correct?

Technically, the drive will more than likely cavitate before you hit the limit anyway. If not, then as soon as you start cavitating, trim in until it stops.
