Why do you want to remove oil injection. Yamaha oil injection is very reliable. I had a 1984 40hp with oil injection and never had a problem and I ran the heck out of that engine. Best outboard I ever owned. :) :)

Re: By passing Yamaha 115 Precision Blend system

its an 1985 model motor and boat that has not been maintained very well. The engine runs great, but I am having electrical problems somewhere. Everytime I turn the key on, the green light will just barely glow and then it burns a fuse. I think it is somewhere in the oilling system. Ilikes things simple, so I was just curious on how to bypass the system. Also, where is the warning buzzer located?<br />Thanks

lots of people here in s.w. fl disconnect the oil injection one the motor goes out of warrenty. ( me included ) remove the oil pump, spin out the copper drive gear. reinstall the pump or make up a blanking plate. seal off each fitting at the base of the carbs. where the oil was injected. seal the fittings on the pump if you reinstalled it. disconnect the oil level sensor on the oil tank. now you have what yamaha called the c-series ( commercial). now enjoy the piece of mind that your motor is getting the lubrication you put in. regards fred.

Also order new jets for your carbs. Oil injected carbs usually have different jet sizes than non injected ones. The oil injected carbs are jet'ed for gas only mixture and when you add oil to the mixture, you change the weight of the fuel. On Yamaha oil injection, the oil is never mixed with the fuel before entering the carbs. That's why Yamahas have less problems with carbs gumming up when they sit.
