I'm looking at buying a four winns funship 224 deckboat. Only 24 hours on it and they want $32,500. The boat seems nice and is exactly what I am looking for but I'm concerned the engine is not powerful enough for skiing or wakeboarding. It has the Volvo Penta 5.0 GXi/DP 270 hp dual prop engine. I'm 6'5" and 267lbs. Do you think this boat has enough power to handle my size on a ski or board?

Yes it has plenty of power. I have a Horizon 230 (really a 24') with the same motor combo. It has plenty of power to do what you want. My boat gets up to 50 mph at full speed. It can also pull me out of the water on one ski and I am 6'2" and 230 lbs

What year? for that price it should be only a year or two old.

The power will be adequate for that boat. The Funs' are not speed demons anyway, but the 5.0L will have enough grunt to get you up on the water.

Specific questions about the boat can be asked here .

Thanks for all the info. It's a 2006 with only 25 hours. The boats in great shape. Unfortunately I might not be purchasing the boat as it is 3 hours from my house and I can't seem to get over to check it out before another interested party. The good thing is that I'm not in a big hurry, but this seems like a very nice boat.

You will find the right boat for you. It does seem on the high side to me. Did you check the book value?
