Buying a new Mercury 90Hp 4 stroke - thoughts?

Hi, I am probably about to bu a new Merc 90HP 4 stroke (brand new) and fit it to a 5.3Metre Trailcraft.....any thoughts on these motors would be appreciated.<br /><br />Cheers, Headcopter

The trailcraft seem to be a strongly built boat. I would also be interested in hearing replies regarding the motor, Has anyone got any comments?.

Bought my '02 90 Hp Merc 4-stroke late last year. It took the pace of an 80 HP Yamaha 4-stroke that went to the bottom in a storm. The 90 Hp Merc 4-stroke has a Yamaha power head w/a Merc lower unit. I have aprox. 8-10 hrs. on new engine. I think you'll find these are excellant engines. Start, idle and run very smoothly. I was interested in another Yamaha, after seeing the power head on the Merc-- I was sold. Keep in mind these engines are heavy, dry wt. is around 386 lbs.. I call it my YamaMerc--Good Luck!
