Hey everyone

Its a 3.0 omc with a blown out freeze/core plug on the block and the manifold. I want to replace them all. Yeh I know there is likely damage but I want to try and replace them anyways first...Does anyone know where I can get freeze/core plugs for both online?..Ive searched and have come up with nothing :( Thanks

You should be able to purchase them from your local auto parts store. Make sure they are brass (marine) not just plain steel. Try napaonline.com.

Ok I will check the parts store and see what I can find. I was really hoping to find the manifold freeze plug. Maybe its a common size brass plug?

I never tried putting them back in. I always figured that once they come out that they are no longer able to sqeeze into the engine block or manifold. Thanks for the info

just put them back in. They have a flange and should hold long enough to run the engine with water pressure. Unless they are broken in half.

Nappa sells rubber ones that you push in and then tighten up. For what you're doing - to test and see if you got lucky, I would use those and then if you don't have any other leaks, replace them properly at the next opportunity.

Well I put the old ones back in and warmed it up to operating temp. No leaks so far. Oil looks fine..not milky. Real test will be takin it out to the water and running it for a while. With any luck i dodged the bullet (knocks on wood)
