This weekend I'll be taking a ride out to Long Isl To Look at a 1985 Sea Ray Amberjack 255. In The Pix The Boat Looks Spotless...Almost Fully Restored. And we have been hageling Via Email, He's Come Down Quite a bit in price. My issue is this...I cant be sure but I think The Boat originally came with Twin 4.3 Liter 6 Cyl Mercruisers. If my memory serves me I think those Motors were about 170 or 180 horses. The boat (In 2000) Was repowered with Twin 3.0 Liter 4 Cyl Mercruisers. 140 Horses each. An The owner says they have about 600 hours on them, Is this a lot of hours for these motors ? Will this boat be underpowered with these smaller motors ?? How much more time can I expect to get out of these 3.0 liter engines ??
