Buying 1974 Starcraft/ volvo penta??

I am new to the i/o boats, I have come across a 74 starcraft with a volvo penta drive system. ITS A 4 CYL with dual carbs. Is there anything that I should look for with this drive live that could cause headach later. It seems well looked after and does run nice. The two main rubber housing seem to new but the small one on the very bottom is torn. It looks like a mushroom head. Any input would be great. thanks

everything on any I/O boat that age is a problem<br /><br />1. getting parts because they become NLA (no longer available) or really expensive because they are rare<br /><br />2. finding anybody who will fix things that you cant because its so old<br /><br />tommays

Not sure of you exact Volvo drive but most I Volvo's that I have had have been built like tanks. None of them gave me a problem. <br />Check the oil level and make sure there is no water in there and fix the bellow. <br /> I am sure others will add more.
