The State of Victoria is experiencing very bad Bush Fires.
Listened to a Farmer being interview on the radio today.
His place was burnt out on New Years day. Lost the lot including stock.
Yesterday he went to help a friend who had just had fire through his property.
His job was to shoot all the burnt but still alive sheep.
He started at dawn and finished at dark, and he shot 1,200 sheep, and he has to go back to day to do it all over again. He says it sickens him. There are 9,000 on this property to be destroyed, and that is only one property in many.
Cheers
Phillip

Re: Bush Fires

I start early and by 6am I am saturated to the waist, and the towel I wear around my neck is wet too. Stink like a pole-cat. All 3 of us try to stand up-wind of each other.
Cheers
Phillip

Heart goes out to you boys down there. I think we are a little more densely populated so the fire fighters are closer. They usually get a handle on the fires befour they get that big.

They are having a rough day down south today. Waiting to catch the news to see if they lost any more lives or a town or so.
It looked real bad on mid-days news.
These fires cover thousands and thousands of square hectres.
Real pleased we have high humidity up here.
Cheers
Phillip

Re: Bush Fires

At the moment, there are about 6 towns in serious trouble and another dozen or so on evacuation standby.
