I would like to raise bunks on a trailer 27" to fit a 20' sailboat. I am often told to use bunk extenders but I have only found 12" extenders. Any suggestions?

Take it to a good welding shop.

as bassboy1 said, sail trailers are usually specially built for the praticular boat. usually need a rolling crane lift for launching, and retrival. they require a totally different support system. especially with a weighted keel.

That's a pretty tall bunk. Is your boat swing keel or fixed? You'd need custom brackets made up I'm thinking. Try checking out your local RV shop and see if the guys there can help you out a little.

I run a 15' sailboat with a wood cradle setup and keel rollers but it's no where near the height your talking about.

A 20 foot sailboat doesn't need a crane, they can be launched. We have quite a few on launchable sailboats on trailers around here (why, I don't know, we have no regular wind:confused:)
27 inches isn't really all that much. You couldn't do it with any generic bracket, but a welder could fab something up without a problem. A couple well place triangles will make a bunk STURDY. If given the choice, a trailer for an inboard might be better, as they have a steep drop in the crossbar for the prop and rudder. Might not. I don't have experience with either.
