Bunk replacment - ideas

I am going to replace the bunks on my trailer in the very near future. I am going to get marine grade pressure treated wood and purchase plain black bunk carpet precut to about the right width. What is the best way to secure the carpet to the 2X4's? Glue? SS Staples? other great ideas! Also I have seen some trailers that have bunk carpet on the inner part of the wheel fender. Any ideas on the best mounting procedure there? I appreciate your help.

SS182

I use both glue and staples, probably overkill though, I just think it looks tacky to see a trailer at the marina with carpet hanging off it.

I agree.... I use glue and staples too, it might be overkill but my carpet stays on the bunk.

ss,

Only use staples on the sides and bottoms of the bunks.

Thanks for the suggestions. djohns19, you are right no staples on top.... Scratches. Thanks for the help! In the 70's today in OK. Looking forward to summer. Water is still a bit cold to ski/wakeboard!

SS182
