Hey everyone! I live in Napa,California. I like to fish out in the Delta. I like to use bullheads but they are 2-3 dollars a pop!!! Where can I catch these things myself? If I recall correctly as a kid I remember catching them in creeks with my grandfather... But who knows it has been a while. Also What about mudsuckers? Are they out in the delta near the docks? I really would just like to catch my own bait fish. And I have no idea where or how to do that. Thanks for any input ahead of time!

Re: Bullheads

Hello, After a little more research they are actually called sculpins. They are just commonly referred to around here as bullheads. It says they live in creeks and rivers in shady areas around rocks. And to use either a worm or salmon eggs on really light tackle with a small hook. I guess I will have to go down to the creek and try to catch one. Although I am not sure if it is legal to fish in the creek... I will have to check up on that.

Re: Bullheads

bullheads are a cousin of the catfish. They can grow up to a few pounds. There are 2 types black and brown. I live in the midwest and they are found in lakes ponds rivers and creeks. find a place that you know that has them in it, and fish it at night with nightcrawlers. Take a kid fishing with you when you go cuz the fishing can be hot and heavy, but you will probaly have to take them off the hook. Hope this helps.
