To save my back, ease the alignment of installation, and prevent undue damage to the lower unit from a drop, I decided to build an outdrive jack. I know, its not a new concept, just my rendition. I used scrap steel from my pile, and an old jack from a boat trailer for the parts. Of course I have a decent shop with metal working tools to my advantage. I havent used it except to mock it up at the boat for clearances and all that. Im taking the boat on one more lake run tomorrow, then the winterization begins. I will remove the outdrive for storage and servicing and will use the jack for real then, and post more pics on that session. So here are a few pics of the build:
