I have IE7, Mozilla Firefox, Google Chrome and my most recent addition has been Opera.

Each one has it's own quirks but this is my first attempt on opera.

Time will tell

Re: Browser Junkie

I do freelance web design, so I need to see how my sites look in all the major browsers. I have IE7 on my desktop PC and IE6 on my laptop (it will be a beautiful thing when people stop using IE6 altogether-- it does a lot of weird stuff with websites you need to design around). I also have Firefox and Chrome on the PC. Safari on my Mac.

Which browser do you like the best, or find yourself using the most? I prefer Firefox myself. Haven't tried Opera yet-- let us know how you like it.

Chrome is okay. It's supposed to be a "modern" browser that's designed for newer web apps like online games and videos, but I don't use that stuff too much, so I didn't notice any huge difference in performance. I used it as my main browser for a while but I got frustrated because I couldn't find the "view source" option and I use that a lot. I finally found it-- it's kind of buried in the Chrome menu. I went back to Firefox mainly out of a comfort factor-- knowing where everything is.

Opera was my preferred browser until Chrome. Chrome was more of an acquired taste, but it's now the default browser. Prior to Opera FF was the only browser for me, but over time it started to get bloated and wasn't as zippy as it once was. If you have a Blackberry I highly recommend Opera mini.

Yeah, on both my wife's and my laptops FF takes for-freakin-EVER to open. Version 3.5 was supposed to be zippier, but upgrading didn't seem to speed things up. So I just might give Opera a try, or give Chrome a second chance. Why do you like Chrome better than Opera, JaSla?

FF is slow to open because we all have those 30 'must have' extensions :) .. I always try to disable a few to speed things up, but then I miss them.

Whoa, slow down there old man and remember all the great things this "fiendish contraption" can do...

I use Chrome and Firefox mainly. I love Chrome's minimal interface.

Re: Browser Junkie

For me Chrome probably has the most user friendly interface. Two things that appealed most to me where the way it organizes tabs and one search/address bar. Most of the other browsers are now incorporating these features and once you get use to it it's hard to go back. Things I don't like are the way it handles downloads and more often than not I get "Oops, this page appears to be broken". A simple refresh takes care of it, but annoying nonetheless.

I still think Opera is faster and renders more page correctly, but I've grown to prefer Chrome. I did tweak it a bit out of the box. I wanted my homepage button and my quick links. If I could have it here on this iPhone I'm using I would.

Firefox for me, Ubuntu and Windows. By the way, they all run better on Windows 7. A lot of the bloat you are seeing is the interaction with Vista and in some cases XP. I have been running windows 7 release candidate for 3 months now not a single hiccup. There is an incompatibility with Google desktop but it is a google problem, not Windows. God, I never thought I would say "not windows" feels funny.:D
