Re: bronze 2 blader
Back in the '50's when 2 blades were popular, we had speed props (common reference to 2 blade) and power props (common reference to 3 blade). Most speed props were Michigan Wheel Co. Bronze. Power was either OEM or MWC alum.
Course back in those days, Merc OEM was an alum two blader and Merc's hole shot with a skier wasn't that stellar for the smaller outboards (30-40 hp). Merc also turned high rpm's to get their horsepower so if you couldn't get the prop spinning you couldn't develop your hp.
OMC on the other hand, had big cubes, low rpm's and a stock 3 blade alum prop. You could pull a pair of skiers up with a 35 fairly easily.
I ran both and don't remember the pitches, but I personally didn't see much if any difference between the two...with a Merc product. Never saw a 2 blade on an OMC engine (of that hp range).
Later, when Merc turned black, they had black 3 blade alum OEM props (in those hp ranges and above). Must have been something to it.
