Hello,

i have a 1990 100 hp Johnson outboard with an omc control handle. The plastic trim switch has broken off. Any ideas on the easiest and most cost effective repair?

A replacement may be available. Look on the accessories parts catalog for your motor and see if the control is listed. If so, there should be a part number for the switch.

Crowleymarine website may have the accessories catalog.

Thanks for the info. I looked it up and of course it says the part is no longer available.

Sometimes they show up on ebay...sometimes a control handle or complete control with the switch on craigslist or facebook.
Or you can convert to a dash mounted switch which are available.

You can also try the outboard salvage yards which are listed at the top of this forum.

Great, thank you. Next question, is it possible to keep the existing control handle and just replace the switch? Can the handle be taken apart?
