Re: Broken Shift Lever - Nissan 6hp
Skipped the dealer replacement of the lever. Cleared back portions of the two broken sections, drilled & pinned the two back together and completed the fix with JB Weld. It's solid now and it only cost $4.00 to repair. If it gives me problems, I'll replace it at the end of the season. After the lever set up, I put it into a tank for a first run and was really impressed with how the motor ran. A little more vibration than I want, but it's expected with a single cylinder. The thrust was very impressive and it should be a great replacement for the 1963 Johnson SeaHorse 5.5hp that we were using. If only the ice would melt from the lakes to get the boat out!
