Broken OMC outdrive lift quadrant gear;

I have a bud in So Cal who says this gear has flat broken off of the upper gear housing. It's about a late 60's-early 70's electric shift OMC out drive. Any suggestions on inexpensive used parts? Rebuilt upper gear cases cost an arm and a leg and they may not even except the old case as a core. This boat may not be worth alot except for the cost to replace it with something in as nice a condition otherwise.<br /><br />Anybody ever heard of this b4. I went out and looked at my 800 (similar setup) and I can't see, short of a catastrophic blow how that could happen.

I just bought my clutch assembly for my ole '82 Stringer from "Sterndrive" ... 800-588-8030 .. ask for wayne... he know's his omc
