Re: broken gear shift lever

Temporary repair: Clamp a Vise-Grips to the broken stub

Permanent repair: Leave the Vise-Grips on.

Just kidding, but it has been done more than once.

+1 on that.

0385837 HANDLE, Gearshaft $129.23 USD

They can be found on ebay sometimes. Even then the price gets up there.
Powerhead removal is required to replace the handle.
I would vise-grip it.

Dont laugh, have been using vise grip (mole grip) for the past month. Motor fell, lever broke off in two pieces. Used auto hose clamp to put one piece together, but cant figure a way to connect it to the main shift lever. Was thinking of putting a small plate of metal on both sides and drilling holes and pulling together with small bolts and nuts. Vice drip really works well, but does nothing for the appear, but have better things to spend $130 bucks on.

Well just repaired mine from same thing. Dropped on shifter handle and broke it at the 90% bend. Cleaned both surfaces really good, and then applied JB Weld, two coats, and works good! Although, That silver/gray color really stands out! Good luck!
