BBC: story here

George Cross medal awarded to Captain Peter Norton for bravery in Iraq.
While investigating a bombing which had claimed the lives of four US soldiers Captain Norton searched the area to make it safe. He did so despite being made aware of the danger of secondary devices and without regard for his own safety.

A brave man indeed and nice to see the country recognising his dedication.

There are a lot more stories like that will never be reported. Yes I blame the US press! :(

There are a lot of heroes over there and in Afghanistan that we won't hear about.

All we get to hear about are the ones who misbehave. . .

Unless we hear it here. :)

No problems: the even bigger story was the link I posted in JB's update on his friends son: a Private who recently won the Victoria Cross.

Now that one has a funny side to it that a lot of you guys might not know about: in the British Army everyone MUSTsalute the Victoria Cross medal.........so now we have Private Beharry doing his best to "bump" into all the high ranking officers so they have to salute him: WTG Pte Beharry :D :D
