Oops I think I nearly hijacked Agualung's post - sorry!

Here it is again on its own.

This is great - first place I have found with informed knowledge of seagulls. When I was at school we had one on our safety boat in Dover Harbour for the sailing club. Pretty good little beast, just kept chugging along whatever the weather and conditions. I picked one up at auction a few years back and we have just unpacked it. SN: SJP 494 R8 which I think makes it a Forty Plus, built in 1956. Not sure what the R8 means though. Any ideas Ross J?

Can't wait to get it going - my son and his girlfriend want to use it on their 14' canoe - should fly! LOL

Re: British Seagull Question

Your Seagull is indeed the Fourty Plus, it's 3hp, and it's built in Feburary of 1968.
Ross

Re: British Seagull Question

Thanks - I need to pick up half a contact breaker - didn't I just lose it when we moved! Oh well, I doubt it will break (nop pun intended!) the bank. Now my 115 and 125 Johnos... they just might break the bank! :p
