I'm a week or so away from putting my '76 Yar Craft Yankee on the water after various hull repairs and repower. Its pictured below in my signature. Yesterday, my daughter asked me what we were going to name the boat. Now, seeing as it didn't have a previous name, I am free and clear from the re-naming ritual. Given its lovely yellow color, I wanted to name the vessel "The Flying Plantain". herein lies the problem; my main use for the boat will be for fishing, and a plantain is, technically, a type of banana. Am I dooming myself to never catching a fish on this boat using that name?

Probably not, because the bad luck is a result of having bananas in the boat, not of the boat itself being a banana. ;)

Fish can't read, so you're good.

It would be especially funny if you happen to be an extremely hairy individual driving it...

Yah, Taj Mahal covered that song, but it was written and first performed back in the 20s. It's jug band music, to be sure...a little bluesy, but jug band stuff.
