I am bringing my boat from Canada to massachusetts. I have purchase a trailer in buffalo NY, which i plan to drive over the border and pick up my boat in Toronto. What do i need to do to bring the boat from Canada to the US. i saw Voodoo posted the reverse thread of this question. Any ideas? where to begin?

okay, that's what i was planning on doing. i am assuming that i can keep my boat under Canadian insurance during the transport, then figure out the deal with that when i return to mass. really i just need to know what it is i need to do to get the boat over the border without having difficulties.

i keep having this fear i am going to drive it 3 hours to the border, to be told i cant do this!

I'd probably call my insurance agent and have it insured before I put that thing on the trailer. JMHO.. better safe than sorry.

Sean

well the boat will be insured just under Canadian insurance. i thought boating insurance was only good on the water. any land accidents would be considered auto insurance?
