I have a 6hp B&S Quantum engine on a pressure washer. Colo was in a draught so it sat for 2 years. I got it out a while ago and now it only runs when the choke is on. When I move it to the run position it dies out. I ran decarb through it for the heck of it but had no noticable effect. Does anyone have any suggestions?

It would probably be best to get a rebuild kit for it and take it completely apart. Remove all the rubber parts and soak it in carb cleaner, then replace all the rubber parts and gaskets with new ones. Should run like new after that. :)

Just a suggestion, next time you store it for a long time put some carb cleaner in and run the tank dry, I see dozens of lawnmowers at the curb every spring that are dumped due to being stored with gas in the tank/carb that clogs the small passages, BTW, I haven't bought a mower in 23 years, I pick up a few new looking throw outs every spring and repair the carbs, sell the extras and pocket the cash. :)
