So I am up 5.1 hours on the new engine, 2018 F50, break in instructions say to avoid idling for long periods.
We go to a local lake, actually 3 lakes connected the second lake we spend most our time on is no wake and it takes 10-15 minutes to cross to get to the sand bar at 1500-2000 rpm.
Periodically I will pop it into neutral and let it spin at 3000-4000 for 15-20 seconds.
Is that good or bad to do and would it be better to just putter.
First new engine and first 4 stroke.
I figure during break in you are setting the future reliability of the engine and I don't want to create problems down the road like "making oil"
