Not looking /to start a big debate but............
I usually run 20w-50, but wondering what I should use for my break-in, should I sue something lighter?

Company I bought my new engine from a couple years ago insisted on Rotella mentioned above for break in. I ran it for an hour changed it, then changed at ten hours. Maybe overkill but to me oil and filters are cheap and gives me an excuse to crack a cold one or two...

Rotella or Delo in the 15/40 grade are good choices as is the Merc 25/40. For salt water use I found the Merc excellent at preventing corrosion when I had salt water in the engine due to blown HGs. The Merc also stayed in its viscosity range very well on the last oil analysis I did with Blackstone Labs. Personally I'd like to see comparisons of used oil analyses of 15/40 vs the Merc 25/40 to see it there is really and difference in engine protection and resistance to viscosity break down....
