So, thanks to the help on here I was able to find my overheat issue. It was Bravoitis. Ordered the Mercury kit and just got through doing it. Now here's my next issue, I believe. Where the hose comes int the bottom on the transom plate, well, that hole was pretty corroded and I removed a lot of loose corrosion. Anyways, I got the kit and took @alldodge advice on the Dawn soap so it would slide in easy. All went well and easy in my opinion. Problem is the after I installed the actual elbow that connects to the pump hose and everything was nice and tight, I went to the outside of the transom and pushed and pulled on the new hose. Well, I have movement. It takes some force but I can pull it back and it stops, I can then push it back in. This was also happening with the installation bracket that come with the kit, but I didn't give it much thought and figured it would all get tight when the actual elbow was in. Now, when trying to pull it out, since the plastic pipe comes with a hump that sticks out, I think that, that hump it what's keeping it form completely coming out since there wasn't much corruption damage towards the back of the hole. Most of the damage was in the inside foward portion of the hole. I am also thinking the Dawn soap doesn't help and makes it easy for it to slide. Should I be worried that the hose move in and out like that? I dont know if there is a lot of pressure on that hose when moving foward at 30-40 mph that would cause it to pop out.
