Howdy all,
Some people have indicated that you can go many years if the pump has "low" hours.
Here's a pump that I am replacing the impeller on that only has 20hrs on it!
You would think that it's in pretty good shape until the impeller is pulled.
You can see that the "vanes" have a "set" in them which would reduce the pumping efficiency.
The old pump impeller is an aftermarket model and the new one is an OEM Mercury replacement.
I think the old was in there for 4 years!
2 years is probably about the longest you should leave one in the housing before replacing it!
