I am rebuilding a bravo three upper with new gears. I've done bravo ones a few times and an older bravo three but this one is different. I have two questions:
1)There is no stamp on the drive telling me what shims (thrust races) to use, should I stick with what was there even though I am using new gears? Like I said, for some reason there is no stamp even though all the books say there should be.
2)The book I am using, #28, says to press the drive gear into the bearings till just before the spacer between the bearings stops being able to move. My drive doesn't have that spacer so how do I know when to stop pressing? I looked up the parts on mercnet and they don't have a spacer there as a part either.
