Bravo 3 Steering Ram Cable Guide Tube - Adjusting to eliminate play?

Is there some type of adjustment to eliminiate play/movement in the steering cable guide tube on a Mercruiser Bravo 3 steering ram? The video linked below shows exactly what I'd like to eliminate on my boat.

Ayuh,.... That's the hyd, valve,.... When the motor is runnin', that bit of slack disappears,....

When it moves, it's openin', 'n closin' the hyd. assist valve,...

Ahhh, gotcha. I didn't check it while it was running.

Do you know what the reason is for holding the guide tube wrench flats vertical while tightening down the cable nut? My Seloc manual specifies to do this, and I'm curious why. I held mine as vertical as I possibly could with the limited access and visibility.

Ayuh,.... It's all part of keepin' the valving aligned,...
