Bravo 1 water connection

I just purchase a Bravo 1 (attached to a Baja Hammer) and was wondering where I can attach a hose for running out of the water. The lower unit does not have the fins where I could use muffs. Thanks.

Got a picture of the lower leg and transom? My Bravo 1 has the raw water intakes on the lower leg....

Otherwise, from inside the boat, follow the water hoses backwards from the raw water pump and it will lead you to the intake from outside the boat. Mine goes to an elbow fitting on the transome plate, above the drive input shaft.

I meant the water inlet(s) on the lower unit itself. After some research (my boat is 20 miles away), I have the single intake at the forward edge of the drive (opposite the prop), with no apparent side intakes. Rather than buy the special muff (about $100 and weeks), I'm just going to go get a large plastic bin (I may have one already...about 60 gallons), fill it with water, keep the hose running, and turn on the engine.

I built a "manifold" for mine. I hate the muffs. There is a connection for a hose on the manifold. I flip a couple of valves and run on the hose all day long. Flip back, and run on the raw water intakes.

A manifold that, what, envelopes the water intake?

At $100 for the Bravo muff (w/o side intakes), I think the drive submerged in a large pool of water will work well, especially since I already have the tub. I will probably just keep it in neutral as I've read the prop rotation will quickly blow most of the water out of a tub...even a 60 gallon tub. I also read that unless you have a high pressure hose, the muffs allow very lttle water into the inlets, and then through the system, so you are kind of confined to idling or just above with muffs.

See any problems with my 60 gallon pool, provided that the water supply stays on, of course?
