Let me first say that I have been enjoying my 1989 Invader V210 this summer and thanks to the help from this site my bravo 2 equipped 5.7L has been running great. The only issue I have been experiencing is 10 to 15 sec delayed shifting into forward when the drive is cold but almost none when hot. My research on iboats tells me this could be a worn clutch assembly. So for now I picked up a used 1.5 to 1 Bravo 1 drive for a great price with a 30 day warranty. Which leads me to my question. Stamped on the sport side is the ratio but no serial # so how do I determine the age of the drive if and when ordering parts.

Pressure testing now so far so good. New gear lube then on the boat for a test run tomorrow. Wish me luck

It could also be a lower shift cable that isn't getting it all the way into gear when cold.

Thanks for the reply. Bad news I put the B1 on and ran it on the hose. The B1 does the same thing in reverse :(. I would guess since the drive came off a boat with twins this was the reverse spin drive. When I did the bellows back in June I set the lower cable with the Merc tools. Also how warm should the top of the drive get while running on the hose. It got kinda warm idling in gear and out of gear. Do I even bother water testing tomorrow? I will be calling the seller and hope for the best as he seems to run an legit business.
