I have a 2000 Tricker Trailer with surge brakes and this year while getting the boat for a fishing trip I noticed that all of the brake fluid in the master cylinder was empty and a little rusty. I added fluid and had a friend pump it while I crawled around under the boat looking for leaks and I couldn't find any. So where do I go from here.?.......I might add the boat set for three years.

Bleed the brakes to see if they still function. If not, dismantle to see what has failed.

normally it leaks out of the rear piston seals and then is spun out of the wheels so you wont see a big puddle just a greasy inside to the back of the wheel.

Could leak out of the master cylinder or wheel cylinders. Any or all could be bad.

Brake fluid does not evaporate and is not used up. You have a leak in your system somewhere. Fill the master cylinder and bleed the brakes and check the wheel cylinders and master cylinder for leaks.

Re: Brake Fluid Gone.

here are potential leak points:

rusted lines
punctured/ruptured flex line
bad master cylinder
bad wheel cylinders

or E - all the above like Bruce mentioned

Given the circumstances my money's on E.

I have only ever dealt with E myself.
