Re: Braided or Flurocarbon?

I use Flurocarbon for "invisible" leaders for such critters as Blues and Spanish Macks. They are skittish. I use braided lines for bottom fishing. Mono lines sink, braided floats. Little or 0 stretch in braided. Feel every bump. Braided super lines like PowerPro are very thin for extra reel capacity.

I agree with Gil. Florcarbon just makes line invisible in the water. I only use it for leaders in clear water.

Braided lines come in many types. Dacron is lower strech than Mono but about the same diameter.
New spectra lines have very small diameter. 50lb about the same diameter at 12 lb mono. Also no streach so even 400 feet deep can feel small bites. also since it is so much smaller has less drag in the water so fishing deep can go from a 2 lb weight to a 12 oz weight. Also get a lot more line on a real for the fish that make long runs. Lot of types of sectra lines, some very very good and some very very bad. I will never ever use spider wire for any thing bet sowing. It comes untied, 40lb test breaks before a 30lb test mono leader. Most are very good and I use it on most of my 30 reels today.
