Re: braided line

I love using braided line. But beware,if you go on a charter boat they might not let you use it because it is real nasty when it gets tangled in other lines.

Re: braided line

lucky jim
I've had good luck with Spiderwire Stealth, it seems to hold its color better than Berkley Fireline and doesn't fuzz up as fast. For attaching line to snaps, lures & swivels I use the Polamar knot. For attaching braid to lead core line or mono, the uni-knot holds real well.

Re: braided line

I have used the Stealth now for about a year. Very good line. No fraying to worry about and cast nice. I've never had a problem with the Spiderline, Braid, Fusion or mono.
Dman

Re: braided line

I have been testing different lines for over 20 years and since the Spectra super braids came out I have tried almost every one. Spiderwire is the only line I will never buy again. Salmon fishing with 30 lb spiderwire and 20 lb IFGA leader and drag set to 5 lb pull at 90 degrees on a 9 foot E-Glass pole. Hooked 3 large fish 30-35 lb and two broke 30 Spider line. I fish with the same set up with all my rods all the same set up and never had any fish break main line. We have got snags lots of times but the 20 lb leader breaks not the main line. In the last 20 years lost 4 fish from broken line the two above and two where Sturgeon fishing and trying to net the fish second hook and weight got caught in the net without getting the sturgeon in the net.

Fishing on a friends bass boat one guy useing spider line, I think 10 lb test but not sure. He had tried lots of different knots but still had line comming untied so he was useing a special glue. Still after about 20 cast the line near the end would kinda of un braid itself and be real loose. The guy ended up spilling glue all over the seats on the boat.

There was one other line just as bad after 6 month. That was Berkley Kevlar line. After 6 month 50 line would break on light hook sets.

Any way every other braid better than Spider line in my opinion and also cheaper.
