My 1983 Chrysler 140 (fresh rebuild) was running a little rough at the mid range RPMs, so I bought a set of Boyesen reeds and installed them. They solved the problem, but now I do not get even close to full RPMs on the high end. I am only getting 4200 or so and should be getting 5000 - 5500. Could it be the reed stops? Can they be removed? Any other suggestions. Before installing the new reeds, I was getting somewhere around 4700 RPMs. HELP!!!
