I thought I had a nightmare come true. In my house I have hydronic radiant floor heat with the pex tubing in the concrete floor and one of my biggest fears was what if I ever have a line start leaking in the concrete. Well two days ago we notice water seeping up through the splices in our vinyl flooring in the kitchen. I couldn't think of any explanation other than a tube started leaking in the concrete and it was seeping up under the flooring, so I had visions of tearing up the flooring and jackhammering a section of the kitchen floor out and repairing the line then patching the concrete in and laying new flooring😫 that'd be a heck of a way to spend my vacation, plus the huge mess it would create...well tonight I did a bit more investigating and discovered the fridge was leaking and the water was seeping under the flooring behind the fridge and I guess "traveling" between the concrete and the vinyl flooring over to the area it was seeping out! So I go from a lengthy messy expensive repair to a $5 , 5 minute easy repair😁 Whew, talk about the best Christmas ever lol

No but if the Admiral would have her way, we'd be shopping for a new fridge, not a $5 part 😁

Try to make sure no mold appears under the flooring. Heat, fans, dehumidifiers help, mold can form quickly and be a real mess.

Just install a bilge pump with a float switch and rest easy ...

I will definitely do that ...I'm hoping the floor heat will help dry it faster but I still need to keep an eye on it

Seal the doors and you could have had a nice, heated, indoor pond for fishing and wintertime boating ... what were you thinking? It didn't need fixed, only re-purposed!
